Adventure lies ahead,
and troubles wait there too,
but don't let the darker aspects of adventure
dictate what you do,
for though some journeys grate your bones,
and rend your heart in two,
there's more hope around your eyes 
than what lurks beneath the blue.

Keep the path,
and kick away the vines that hold you fast,
and swim whenever water rises up to push you further back,
wrestle with your hunger,
don't let the dark play tricks,
and always stop to revel in your exploits for a bit.

And when the light is gone away,
and the fire's burning low,
the cold has settled in your gut 
and you do not know,
if all of this is worth
the painful road you've walked,
remember that a hero's made
by how he passes through the dark.
