Sometimes sparks are missed,
fireflies go unnoticed,
showy flashes grab attention,
though they never last.
They siphon off the oxygen,
blinding all not them,
leaving embers quailing, choking,
barely 'bove the brim.
But oftentimes it's in the small,
unnoticed flecks of fire,
where one may find immense talent
and the power to inspire.
So, my fireflies, don't let the flames discourage you from flight,
avoid also, those who'd like
to bottle up your light,
it's in the free, unfettered air
wherein your power blazes,
and one day soon, you'll light the way
from countless lifted stages.
